Milton Bradley’s enduringly popular strategic board game makes the leap to the big screen in Hancock director Peter Berg‘s epic sci-fi adventure pitting an international naval fleet against an army of invading aliens. When the two forces find themselves evenly matched, each must rely on strategy and cunning in order to emerge the victor. Taylor Kitsch and Alexander Skarsgard head-up a cast also featuring Liam Neeson, Rihanna, Brooklyn Decker, and Tadanobu Asano.

For those of you (us) who haven’t seen Batlleship yet, here’s a new behind the scenes featurettes titled ‘Creating Destruction’. Bad news… no matter that they call ‘em, they can’t hide that this is a pure Transformers rip-off.

Poor Americans, Universal – the studio behind Battleship - decided to release their board game turned movie a month earlier overseas, so while our brother across the atlantic have to wait till May to see it, some other international markets have already begun salivating over Rihanna and co kicking alien butt. But are they really salivating? Thanks to Christopher Campbell’s the Convcersation we get to see what most critics have to say about Battleship. 

‘Battleship’ Alien Featurette

Hot on the heels of Battleship‘s first clip, the film makers have released this behind-the-scenes look at how the aliens in the movie were created. Using Industrial light, green screens and “pyjama guys” in motion-capture suits, the alien aggressors are made to look as realistic as possible to allow Rihanna and co know what they’re shooting. As an added bonus, you even get to hear a bit from director Peter Berg and stars Taylor Kitsch and Rihanna, plus see some more footage from the film.

Its sunday, Easter Sunday at that, and so there’s really not much going on, movie news wise, this is the first slow news day I’m experiencing and I’m not sure how to handle it. I have no idea what I’m going to talk about today, so I’m just going to ramble a bit. How about we go through all that has happened this past week and appreciate what April has brought? Cool? When Aliens Attack – First ‘Battleship’ Clip Arrives Online

Finally a movie clip that isn’t for the Avengers. I have the first official clip from Peter Berg’s Battleship (due out on May 18th), and it shows off a teaser of what the naval officers aboard the titular ‘battleship’ are up against when the aliens attack.
